DISNEY'S "MY CAMP ROCK"
So, he made it to the last 4 ~ Reece Cook, 11 years old having surprised his family and friends by singing in a talent show at a holiday centre. Then Helen McDermott saw him, and suggested that he had some training. The Deputy Head at Dell School Ruth Nixon, suggested to his parents and grand parents that he joined Cantor's Theatre Schools and Centres for Performing Arts in Lowestoft in 2007. He has never looked back. Reece is a good student and is very centralised in what he is doing. His concentration is good, he picks up lyrics and movement well, and so he became a very good all rounder, in the 'blue' team that has got a lot of boys in it there is plenty of competition for him to deal with.

The show opened with CANTOR’S SINGERS & DANCERS (28 of them) who put the ‘E’ into Energy with their version of ‘Can’t Stop the Beat’ ~ Then came RAT KENNY CANTOR to do the warm up, and what a warm up! HELEN McDERMOTT (Anglia Television & Radio Norwich 99.9) who was the co-host with RAT KENNY was superb throughout. RAT ‘ROLLO’ ROLLASON a great favourite in the area was very funny. DOREEN REED a poetess in the same game as Pam Ayes was really entertaining. Then came the powerhouse of RAT RUSTY GOFFE who not only had the audience in hysterics, but played a mean keyboard as well, finishing up with a post horn that was bigger than he is. Song & dance man IAN ADAMS wowed the audience with some Irving Berlin numbers. Then chaos reigned with SIMMONS & SIMMONS ~ RAT KEITH & SON BEN so good to see some beautifully controlled and hilarious gags & visual comedy, terrific.
After the Interval came CANTOR’S SINGERS & DANCERS again with a Bob Fosse ‘special’ Bye Bye Blackbird, with the simultaneous movements. Made way for PAT NEARNEY Norfolk’s Village idiot, a miming nutter, had the place in stitches. REUBEN JONES an all rounder, performed some hilarious stuff and finished off with Nessum Dorma, and knocked everyone out with this helluva voice. A young lady SHANI CANTOR hit the audience right between the eyes with her unique voice and her use of the stage, an ovation at the end of her spot. All round Musical Speciality CEDRIC JEMMETT hit the high spots with his harmonica routine and Austrian hand bells. NIK PAGE did it his way with some very well sung Sinatra favourites, just right for this show. RAT KENNY then introduced CANTOR’S SINGERS & DANCERS with a tribute to ‘QUEEN’ and had the audience on their feet to a standing ovation.+
The general opinion was ~ What a Show ~ The audience were ecstatic, the applause & cheering rung in the ears for a long time.
